Tour de France

As you can tell, Matt loves sports.  EVERY sport even bicycling.  So we moved on from the World Cup Tournament to the Tour de France.
Here he is getting ready to watch the tour.

Unfortunately Lance did not win but we still enjoyed watching the tour.
Here's Latte cleaning Matt up. She is such a good dog.

Happy 4th!

Ok...so I know I am a little behind but a lot has been going on the last month that I want to catch up on!
Matt and I spent the 3rd of July at his sister's house for their 4th of July party.  We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, had a red neck golf tournament and iced Guy.  Icing is the new craze across America and some how my husband and his friends are on the band wagon.  When we arrived Guy was at Specs switching out the tap because the one he was given was broken.  So while he was away the guys decided to ice him.
                                                                      Can you see it?
Yup, it is right there under all that ice.

Trying to figure out the tap.

What's this?

Come on man!

Guy taking his ice!

Over all it was a fun night.  We got to catch up with friends we don't see too often and Matt and I won second place in the red neck golf tournament.

Dynamo and Pinks Pizza

Tonight the Dynamo played Toronto FC. Being the Dynamo fans that we are, Matt and I watched the game and I ordered some Pinks Pizza!

As you can see Matt was really excited!

We ordered the Mediterranean pizza from Pinks. And it was good!

This was our first time to have Pinks and I was pleasantly surprised! Their crust was super yummy.

I love enjoying a nice glass of wine and soccer with my hubby and Latte.

Toronto is where my favorite player was traded to from the Dynamo. Boy do I miss DRo. We need him back so bad! With him we won 2 championships and it hasn't been the same since we left.

The Dynamo were ahead 2-1 going into the last 10 minutes of the game. But....they let up and Toronto scored to tie the game.

Bummed because our team tied and we are now tied for 4 with 2 other teams.

But on the up side....Latte's eye is looking much better!

I See An Eclipse!

Wednesday night I met up with Amy, Courtney and Caroline to go see Eclipse from the Twilight Saga. We arrived about 2 1/2 hours early for the 9:55 showing and guess what we found. No one. We were the first people to arrive! What!!!! I've never been early for anything.

Here we are celebrating our line leader status!

Courtney, Amy, me and Caroline

To pass the time we had movie food for dinner and luckily Amy brought Phase 10 for us to play.
The line is starting to build up!
By movie time the line was wrapped down the hall and back around the hall almost to where we were sitting.
We're in! And we had the first pick of seats! Here are our line buddies who were behind us.

Overall, I think this was the best of the Twilight movies so far. It was a little less cheesy and you could tell they were able to put more money into the film. Can't wait for the next one!
After the movie was done, we ran into our line buddies again and they asked us to take a picture with this guy.Sandra then asked if we wanted her to take a picture of us. Of course we said yes, but then we were confused by as to why she wanted to take a picture of us with this random guy. As you can see we are all confused in this picture.

As it turns out his name is Sugar Shane Mosley a professional boxer. I believe he boxed Mayweather and beat him. Not too shabby!

Oh No!

I came home from work on Tuesday and this is what I found.

Latte's eye was almost swollen shut. I figured she had something in her eye so I kept trying to get it out but nothing worked. It looked like she had a film on her eye so I then tried to rinse it with water. Again, nothing worked. So I researched on line and found that it could be a cornea ulcer, so I immediately took her to the Heights Vet Clinic. The vet put a green dye in her eye and confirmed that indeed she had a large scratch on her eye. So $200 later he gave me some ointment to put in her eye 3-5 times a day. Poor Little Latte! I've been putting the ointment in her eye 5 times a day so we can get this thing healed already!

Happy B-Day Meg!

Monday was Meg's 28th birthday! We had a great night of pasta, cookie cake and Wii! We started out the night with some great red wine and gifts! Matt got Meg a bell for her new beach cruiser and I got her a super cute love bird address stamp. For a little back ground, Meg and Guy just bought new beach cruisers a few weeks ago and ride them everyday! They are so cute and Meg even has a little basket for Lexi to ride in. It's so cute. Hopefully we start riding with them soon. Also, I bought Matt and I an address label a while ago. When I showed Meg she got so exited she stamped her hand with our address label. At that moment I knew I HAD to get her her own when they bought a house!

Here is Meg's cookie cake. I asked for pink dots instead of green. Too bad I didn't realize it looked like chicken pocks! Oops!

Matt and Meg celebrating!

Later, we bowled and Meg boxed on the Wii. She dominated the game and bet about 5 players! Awesome! I've never even made it past the warm up!

It's Getting Hot in Here!

Matt and I woke up Sunday and low and behold our AC had quit working. Life sure didn't wait for us since the wedding. Since we have been home the garbage disposal, water heater and ac have been giving us trouble. Oh well, life must go on. I spoke with my friend Kurt and he helped Matt and I figure out what the problem was. And luckily for us Goodle is a great resource and helped us repair the AC unit on our own. Matt and I originally removed the screws so we would manually spin the fan. Since it started we figured it had to be the capacitor, little did we know we were looking at the wrong part when we diagnosed the problem. I found a guy who had a new capacitor for us to buy on a Sunday so we just had to figure out how to get the capacitor out. Once we finally figured out there was a back compartment that had to be removed in order to take the fan off we found this......

The capacitor

We capacitor looked like a can of soad that had been shaken up. So we bought a new one and Matt replaced it. I was so nervous that Matt would shoke himself but he did such an amazing job. So we saved a few hundred dollars as well as learning how to fix it ourselves.
Here is my hubby fixing the AC unit. Woohoo!

Stay tuned. I'm sure we will be replacing something else soon!

Houston Dynamo!

This Saturday Matt and I went to the Dynamo game following Ben's birthday party. We were accompanied by the birthday boy himself, Amy, Courtney and her friend Matt. Matt and I love our season tickets and we love it even more when we can share the experience with our friends! This is our 3rd year as season ticket holders and we could not enjoy the games more! Dynamo games are something we enjoy doing together and help us to remain best friends. I look forward to sharing it for years to come and passing it onto our children, when we have them.

The game was a draw at 2-2. Unfortunately we didn't win like we should have but at least we didn't lose. So far this year has not been a good year for the Dynamo. We lost Holden and Clark to European team and Cameron to an injury. We seriously need to step it up already!

The view from our seats! I sure hope it looks the same at the new stadium! Right behind the goal.

My hubby! He was obviously enjoying himself.

Amy and Ben.

And Courtney and Matt. They played their vuvuzela's on their iPhones most of the night. Man I hate those things! Thanks God people do not use them here!

Dirty 30

Yesterday we celebrated Ben's Dirty 30! We had a day of fun at his apartment complex pool with Chuy's fajitas, the US world cup game again Ghana and water volleyball. Too bad we didn't win. But we still had fun! We definitely need to do that more often.
Happy Birthday Ben!

Amy and Courtney setting of the buffet table.

Matt spiking the beach ball.

Matt and Meg enjoying the game.

Our friends Jason and Amanda were also there with their two adorable kids!
Hallie was too cute in her little bikini! And boy did she love the pool! And this little one is only a month old and slept the whole time.
We had so much fun and cannot wait until the next pool party/volleyball tournament. Next time I will wear some water shoes or something because my toes were worn raw from the pool. It was so bad that it hurt to walk. Hopefully we'll be able to do it again for the championship game for the world cup!

Jimmie's Place

Tonight we intended on some good old bingo with friends, however, when we arrived the SPJST was completely packed with not a seat in the house. I never knew bingo was the hot spot for young adults. We went expecting to be surrounded by old people and to have cheap pitchers of beer. Not the case at all! I guess we will just have to show up earlier next week. Since the bingo hall was packed to capacity and we were already out....we decided to hit up the local Heights bar Jimmie's Place on 6th/White Oak. It's a different kind of place but the beer is cheap and the crowd is low key.

Here we are at Jimmies enjoying our beers. Matt with his usual Shiner.

Apparently on Thursday nights their canned beer is on sale for $1.25. It's not premium beer by any means but it will do! I tried some Lone Star Beer and even Schlitz. I thought they quit making Schlitz years ago! My Grandpa Motl always had Schlitz and Lone Star in his fridge so I had to drink one of each for him although it did make me miss him. :( It's only been about a month and a half since his passing and it still makes me sad to think about it.

We were joined by our good friends Amy and Ben

And our brother-in-law Guy!

Hopefully next week we will be able to get a seat at Bingo! Wish us luck.

Happy *Belated* One Month Anniversary

Yesterday was our one month anniversary and we both forgot about it until this morning.  I was getting ready for work when Matt walked in the room and announced sadly that we missed our anniversary.  Whoops!  We both intended on surprising the other with a card and a small gift but we both forgot.  At least we are on the same page!  Oh well.  Happy (Belated) One Month Anniversary Honey.  You are my best friend and I am so happy to be your wife.  I cannot wait to spend every day with you for the rest of our lives.  I love you with all my heart.
